Aallayah Young Model Scotland

On Sunday the 6th September, we met up with Aallayah (16) for her first outdoor shoot, with mum and sister by her side for support. Yeah, one of those nervous and anxious moments when the hopeful model first sets out with some mad strange guy that insists on pointing a big fancy camera in their face, at all weird angles, for what feels like a whole day! I think Aallayah did genuinely enjoy the experience though, which is awesome! 

Venue was The Voe, Shotts, North Lanarkshire (Torbothie Beach for the locals) Quick bit of abbreviated history on The Voe.

The Voe is a man-made body of water situated near the Torbothie Club, next to a quarry. It was created by damming the upper Calder water to create a source of cooling for the now-demolished Shotts ironworks and brass foundry. Abandoned and ruined stone structures are dotted around it. It is suitable for fishing, with common fish including pike and perch. Young people often ride their bikes to the beach. It is currently undergoing a makeover with 1400 houses planned for its future, a project estimated at £85m.

Boom, history job done, now back to Aallayah ...

Oh and photos included in this blog were personally selected by Aallayah as her top fave pics from the day. (The included landscape pic at the waterside was just 1 of my own personal faves of many) With this being the first shoot we let virtually ever image go live on the private online album for Aallayah to preview and ingest properly, to give her a true reflection of her first day out. 

This particular local outdoor shoot was more of a basic introduction, with the intention of Aallayah making a start on her own portfolio for the future. Exciting times!! 

Yes, I've been there and done this type of shoot hundreds of times over the years but wowsers, Aallayah nailed it from the 1st click. Due to it being the first shoot, no structured direction was given, nor was it really needed! Aallayah performed like a pro throughout the session. What little direction was given, Aallayah quickly adjusted and without fuss to get the shot. Not once did I hear or get hint of any complaint about moving, adjusting or even facing the sun!!  What a joy to work with! 

I would like to wish Aallayah all the very best for the future and hope she follows her dreams and natural talent to build a career. I couldn't rate her highly enough as a beginner, she has pure natural talent and beauty - along with (the most important part) an excellent attitude. Best outdoor session ever and hope to work with her again in the future.
